How to Get the Most from the Free Library's Digital Audiobook Collections

From Whitman to Bustleton, Mantua to Nicetown, people in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas are hunkering down and looking for diversions. During these challenging times, many of us have found that the Free Library's Digital Media collections offer something for everyone, with digital audiobooks a particular favorite. Here's a quick guide to getting the most from our digital audiobook selection.

Generally, the best way to find anything at the Free Library is by searching our catalog—and that's certainly true for audiobooks, as well. Savvy Free Library users also know that our digital audiobooks can be found through our digital platforms. Each platform the library offers has its strengths and each is a little different. Let's take a closer look at three of our most popular:

RBDigital
RBDigital is where you will find the latest and greatest in digital audio. Bestsellers and new releases like Such a Fun Age, Where the Crawdad's Sing, The Water Dancer, and more are available for a 21-day checkout on your computer, or on your mobile device when you add the RBDigital app (available for iOS, Android, and Kindle). Of course, for super-hot titles like these, you will likely need to hop on a waiting list, but our librarians do their best to keep the selection varied and those wait times reasonable.
Limit: six checkouts at a time.

Hoopla
Hoopla is the place to go when you want to start listening to an audiobook right now! With over a bazillion titles to choose from (OK, OK, over 38,000, but that's still a lot!), Hoopla has something for everyone. Best of all, Hoopla has no waiting lists—all 38,000 of those audiobooks are available to everyone at the same time. If you and your friends want to start an online book club, you can all listen to The Hunger Games or The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek at the same time. And—attention parents—Hoopla has a great selection for kids, including favorites like Captain Underpants, The Good Egg, and The One and Only IvanHoopla is available on your computer, as well as mobile devices when you add the Hoopla app (available for iOS, Android, and Kindle).
Limit: four checkouts per month.

Overdrive
ebook readers know that Overdrive is the place for our best selection of fresh, bestselling titles, but did you know that our Overdrive collection also boasts a great selection of audiobooks for adults, teens, and kids? Titles like Harry Potter series, The Hate You Give, and Game of Thrones series are available through your computer, as well as mobile devices when you add the Overdrive app (available for iOS, Android, Chrome, and Kindle).
Limit: six items at a time.

I have not been able to access an audiobook when I borrow it thru Libby. I want to listen to it on my Kindle. How do I do that?
