While we missed out on the last week of One Book, One Philadelphia programming, we are looking forward to a rescheduled Finale event later this year. Stay tuned for details! In the meantime, we invite you to continue reading and discussing. If you are teaching or learning remotely right now, the One Book online archives have you covered for at-home reading curricula and teaching materials from any of the One Book seasons, for books at both high school and middle school reading levels. Inside these rich sets of curricula, find chapter-by-chapter discussion guides, creative assignments, and links to author interviews and supplemental media.

If you don’t already have a library card, apply online now so you can start checking out the below ebooks and downloadable audiobooks right away! Included in this post are titles and curricula from the most recent One Book seasons, but to see and choose from the full archives, visit the One Book homepage.

Here are curricula for recent One Book featured selections, recommended for 9th grade through adult readers:

The 2020 One Book selection and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, There There follows 12 Native American characters as collective history and their lives converge at a powwow in contemporary Oakland, California.

Recipient of the National Book Award and the 2019 One Book selection, Sing is an odyssey through Mississippi's past and present, an intimate portrait of a family, and an epic tale of hope and survival.

From New York Times bestselling author and National Book Award-winner Jacqueline Woodson, Another Brooklyn was the 2018 One Book selection and follows the beautiful friendship of four girls in 1970s Brooklyn, exploring the Great Migration, gentrification, and the time when childhood gives way to adulthood.

The 2017 One Book selection is a mystery novel with a protagonist, a teenage boy with autism, who sets out to solve a case and finds unexpected truths about himself and the world.

Below are the curricula for One Book companion titles to the above featured selections. Typically these are books that are recommended for reading levels grade 5 through 8, but they are truly enjoyable for all ages:
