When you think of spelling bees, you probably think back to those elementary school glory days (or, in my case, to an embarrassing misspelling of ‘different’ that still haunts me to this day...), but what if we told you that you could be part of a spelling bee for grown-ups while you eat and drink with friends?

It’s true!

On Tuesday, October 22, the Free Library’s young professionals group, the Raven Society, is pleased to partner with MilkBoy for The Birds & The Bee: A Raven Society Spelling Bee! Featuring emcee Icon Ebony Fierce, the event will kick off at 7:00 p.m. with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. at 1100 Chestnut Street.

Tickets are $10 per person, and all proceeds benefit the Free Library of Philadelphia. Attend as a spectator or sign up with a team and compete in a quizzo-style spell-off! It’s going to be part show, part quiz, and all fun! Creative team names and outfits are encouraged.

The Raven Society introduces young professionals 21 and up to the critical work of Philadelphia’s public library system.
