Join the Free Library for a Storytime in Reading Terminal Market!

What’s better than a fun Free Library storytime with your little one? How about a fun Free Library storytime complete with some of Philly’s most iconic eats just steps away?

That’s right! On the first Wednesday morning of each month, the Free Library partners with our friends at Reading Terminal Market for a storytime in the Reading Terminal Market Book Nook! Librarians and special library guests share their favorite interactive stories, songs, movement, and rhymes with our city’s littlest learners.

One of America’s largest and oldest public markets, housed since 1893 in a National Historic Landmark building that spans 11th and 12th Streets between Filbert and Arch, Reading Terminal Market offers an incredible selection of locally grown and exotic produce, locally sourced meats and poultry, plus the finest seafood, cheeses, baked goods, and confections. And that’s not to mention the restaurants!

You can find the Book Nook in the seating area between Miller's Twist & Metropolitan Bakery.

Afterwards (or… before? or… both? No judgment here!), be sure to try out some of the delicious Philly fare that Reading Terminal has to offer. What’s your favorite? Let us know in the comments!

We hope to see you on a Wednesday morning very soon!

My husband, who recently passed, was a retired chef who shopped regularly at the Reading Terminal Market. I am a retired school librarian. Together, we loved children and spent much time people watching just to see the kids. I couldn't think of a better way to honor him, and us, than to read to children at the RTM.
