By Gillian R. RSS Wed, May 30, 2018

The Workplace, a service of the Business Resource & Innovation Center, is excited to announce our latest FREE resource: monthly resume review!

Our newest staff member, Janet, has 20 years of management experience with a background in education and public service, as well as being responsible for interviewing and hiring employees. Janet will be available once a month from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. No registration is required. You will be seen on a first-come first-served basis. Be sure to visit the Workplace website for more information and upcoming dates!

So take your resume to the next level and get that interview! Check out these tips if you’re not quite sure how to revamp a tired resume:

Update your template
Did you know Canva and Google Docs offer beautiful resume templates? The hardest part is commiting to just one template.

Use O*NET Online to aptly demonstrate your qualifications
O*NET Online complies occupational information such as skills, knowledge, and abilities you can use to highlight your qualifications for a position. Read more about using O*NET to enhance your resume in the O*NET Resource Center.

Meet with a librarian
Request an appointment with a Workplace librarian. We can provide individual training on our databases to demonstrate effective job search strategies such as navigating job descriptions and resume review. This is a great way to start updating your resume before dropping in to see Janet!

After having your resume reviewed, stick around the Workplace and hop on a computer to make changes and edits to your resume while they are fresh in your mind. You can even print ten free copies of your awesome new resume!
