After months (seriously) of combing through stacks of award winners, bestsellers, thought provokers, and heartstring pullers … WE HAVE SELECTED THIS YEAR’S ONE BOOK, ONE PHILADELPHIA TITLE.

What is it, you ask?

We can’t tell you. Not just yet. This year’s citywide read will be announced THIS THURSDAY, October 19, at 10:30 a.m. in the Main Lobby of the Parkway Central Lobby. Not only will we reveal the featured read and its youth companion books, but this year’s featured author will be with us to kick off the official One Book reading period.

Here is what we CAN tell you about the 16th One Book selection:

• It is written by an award-winning author.
• It includes dynamic, universal themes that will be explored across the city through workshops, performances, music and dance, discussions, and so much more.
• It is a powerful, beautiful, engaging, witty, thought-provoking read.
