Are you a young adult who loves the Free Library? Then join the Raven Society!

For a $50 donation, you benefit from an array of members-only benefits, such as:

Mission Statement: The Raven Society* is an organization whose mission is to support the ongoing fundraising and programming efforts of the Free Library of Philadelphia by increasing awareness of the Library and its relevance to young adults and families in Philadelphia. The Raven Society accomplishes its mission by providing supplemental planning and marketing support to already existing Library activities as well as by developing and offering separate programs and events.

*The Raven Society is named for Grip, beloved pet of Charles Dickens and inspiration for Edgar Allan Poe's poem, "The Raven." When the bird died, Dickens had it stuffed and mounted. Grip currently lives on the third floor of the Central Library in the Rare Book Department.
