Looking for something heartfelt and inspiring to read while supporting a worthy cause this Valentine's Day?
Check out Love is Love, a 162-page graphic novel from IDW Publishing and DC Comics, honoring the victims, supporting the survivors, and celebrating the LGBTQ community affected by the senseless Pulse Nightclub tragedy in Orlando, Florida in June 2016.
The anthology contains more than 100 stories from comic creators and celebrity contributors who donated their time and talents, including Gail Simone, Grant Morrison, Phil Jimenez, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Paul Jenkins, George Perez, Kieron Gillen, Matt Wagner, Leinil Yu, Jason Aaron, G. Willow Wilson, Jeff Parker, Olivier Coipel, Patton Oswalt, Patty Jenkins, Morgan Spurlock, Damon Lindelof, Marguerite Bennett, Steve Orlando, and Jim Lee, who contributed a special Harry Potter illustration (with J.K. Rowling’s blessing).
Spandex superheroes and iconic pop culture characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Spirit, and Archie and his whole crew from Riverdale, share space next to autobiographical indie comix, colorful intense splash pages, poetry, and prose.
To quote one of the stories within, "Love has no gender, race, disability, age, religion, or labels... Love is pure and love is equal. Treat it that way!"
Now through July 31, all proceeds from each borrow of Love is Love through Hoopla will be donated to Equality Florida.
