When you're not reading or playing outside, August has some other fun holidays you can celebrate like having a delicious cool treat on National Ice Cream Sandwich Day on August 2nd, Wiggle Your Toes Day in the grass on August 6th, or even pet a dog on National Dog Day on August 26th.
