Introducing Two New eBook and Audiobook Services: OneClick Digital and Overdrive Kid's eReading Room!

By Jamie W. RSS Mon, March 17, 2014

We're so pleased to announce that we've expanded our ebook and digital audiobook services with two new platforms!

First, we have a new digital experience just for kids. The Kid's eReading Room provides a safe and easy browsing experience for kids distinct from our main Overdrive ebook and downloadable audiobook collection. Visit the new Kid's eReading Room today.

One important technical note: To provide a more predictable browsing experience for kids, our new Kid's eReading Room will cache in your computer's browser. This means that once you visit the kids site, you will be taken to it automatically the next time you visit either of our Overdrive sites. To remove the cache, simply click the 'Main Collection' icon at the top of the kid's site.

On this appealing, user-friendly platform, young readers will be able to find ebooks and audiobooks faster and without having to sort through materials for teens and adults. Kids will find familiar favorites like Harry Potter, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Magic Tree House as well as many other great selections courtesy of our librarians.

Better still, the Kid's eReading Room is easy to use. Ebooks can be read right in the browser of your computer or mobile device and audiobooks can be downloaded using the Overdrive Media Console app or software.  For help getting started with ebooks, visit our guide

Today we are also introducing OneClick Digital. OneClick is a great, easy-to-use source for downloadable audiobooks you won't find in Overdrive. OneClick has secured deals with publishers for exclusive content by top authors like Stuart Woods, Clive Cussler, and Jodi Picoult.

Grab your library card, head over to our Digital Media page and give these new resources a try today!

Love this idea for kids, for an app so new, its fantastic and my daughter loves it as much as I do. Thank you. Love my library for branching so far into technology. Keep it up!!!

The OneClickdigital Media Manager appeared to download and transfer audiobooks to my iPod seamlessly. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work. I had a MacBook Pro, an IPOD Nano, and the requisite versions of the required applications. I can download and have the audibook appear, but it won't transfer through the OCD Media Manager. I was successful with the manual process, though and I do have a question out to the OCD support center.

Hello Jody - It's hard to say exactly what's happening here based on the description, but contacting the OCD support is a good step. You can also contact one of our librarians for help at the 'contact us' link at the top of this page for one-on-one support. Thanks.
