July is National Ice Cream Month!
Celebrate with your favorite “scoop” of Children’s books all about ice cream. Here are a few suggestions:
-
Infants and toddlers will enjoy turning the board book pages as you read the delightful book Yummy Ice Cream by Emma Quay.
-
Have fun laughing and reading together Should I Share My Ice Cream? from the wonderful Elephant and Piggie series, created by Mo Willems.
- Older preschoolers will love Gail Gibbon’s book Ice Cream: The Full Scoop. They will be fascinated to learn how ice cream was first made centuries ago, and discover how an ice cream factory works today. I highly recommend books by author Gail Gibbons as an excellent way to introduce non-fiction reading to preschoolers.
Please search the FLP catalog for our wonderful selection.
Have fun reading!

If there's one thing that kids in love, it's ice cream! This seems like a great way to inspire early readers.
