Lady Gaga's Born Brave Bus Tour and the Free Library

The Free Library of Philadelphia is proud to announce that it will be partnering with Lady Gaga’s Born Brave Bus Tour (BBBT) on February 19 and 20, 2013, at the Wells Fargo Center as part of her Born This Way Ball Tour. The BBBT area will provide a free, safe space for 13- to 25-year-olds to learn more about local resources on anti-bullying, suicide prevention, mental health services, and positive youth programming (including Teen events at the Free Library of Philadelphia!). The Born This Way Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 by Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, to “foster a more accepting society, where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated.” According to Lady Gaga’s twitter, the impulse to have the Born Brave Bus Tour was "I feel like most kids don't look for help because they feel embarrassed so mom + I wanted to break the stigmas around ‘help’ and make it fun.”

Check the Born This Way Foundation’s site for more information on pre-registering for the event, and the Free Library’s Born Brave tumblr blog for what youth at the Free Library are making to prepare for the event. You must be 13-25 years old to participate in the Born Brave Bus Tour.

UPDATE: Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that due to a case of synovitis (severe inflammation of joints), Lady Gaga’s doctor has ordered her to cancel ALL remaining The Born This Way Ball performances, including Philadelphia on February 19 and 20. Check back on our blog to see when and if the tour will be rescheduled!
