The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar was one of my favorite books as a child, and when I stumbled across this video of author and illustrator Eric Carle explaining the idea behind the popular book I was intrigued. He said the idea came by chance. One day he punched a hole into a stack of paper with a hole punch and instantly thought, "book worm" and out of the book worm came the idea for a green worm and eventually the green worm became a caterpillar.
