Popular Animal Storytimes Return to Charles L. Durham Library
By Christina B.
The Free Library of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Zoo are collaborating again to present the annual Animal Tales series at Charles L. Durham Library.
On the second Tuesday each month from October 2025 through May 2026, a Philadelphia Zoo representative will visit Charles L. Durham Library for a storytime featuring a special guest star — one of the animals from the story! Educators from the zoo will tell us more about these furry, feathered, or scaled friends during an unforgettable afternoon of animal-themed activities.
The species of our animal visitors won’t be announced until the day of the program, so make sure to attend as many Animal Tales as possible! Each program will take place monthly at 4:00 p.m. The dates of the series are as follows:
- October 9, 2025
- November 13, 2025
- December 11, 2025
- January 8, 2026
- February 12, 2026
- March 12, 2026
- April 9, 2026
- May 7, 2026
This program is suited for school-aged children and their parents or guardians.
Charles L. Durham Library has been serving the Mantua and Powelton communities since 1979, and is located just a few blocks south of its frequent collaborator, the Philadelphia Zoo.
