Join us on Saturday, April 12, 2025, for the Third Annual printPHILLY! Print Fair. Organized by the Philadelphia Print Consortium, printPHILLY! celebrates the diversity and richness of Philadelphia’s printmaking community. This one-day fair is FREE and open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Parkway Central Library.
In 2023, the Philadelphia Print Consortium organized the first printPHILLY! Print Fair at University of the Arts, but with the school’s sudden closure in June 2024, the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Print and Picture Collection will host the print fair at Parkway Central Library. This year’s printPHILLY! showcases over 40 vendors, including individual artists, print shops, print collectives, schools, and non-profit spaces. Visitors can purchase original prints from a wide variety of artists and print shops. For a complete list of participants, visit printphilly.org.
printPHILLY! features several special events throughout the day:
11:00 a.m. - The Print Center and the Continuous Contemporary: Enjoy a lecture presentation about printmaking by Lauren Rosenblum, Jensen Bryan Curator at The Print Center. This event takes place in room 131/132 in the Heim Center.
12:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. - Hands-on Printmaking with Mural Arts: Printmaking By The People: Join Mural Arts Philadelphia to make your own print on the first floor of Parkway Central Library in the East Hallway near the Lobby.
2:00–4:00 p.m. - Books on Prints and Prints in Books (Art Department display for printPHILLY!) Stop by the Art Department on the Second floor to see books and portfolios related to printmaking.
printPHILLY! is hosted by the Philadelphia Print Consortium (PPC) with support from the Print and Picture Collection at the Free Library of Philadelphia, The Soapbox: Community Print Shop and Zine Library, and the American Color Print Society. PPC is a volunteer-run group of printmakers, educators, curators, and people interested in prints and printmaking who are working together to raise awareness of the rich and expanding Philadelphia print community. PPC meets regularly on Zoom and in person, and anyone is welcome to join. The Print and Picture Collection has been involved with PPC since a group of print enthusiasts met at The Print Center in 2017. Working with PPC is one way we help spread awareness about printmaking, why it is important, and why the Free Library collects and preserves prints. The Print and Picture Collection has co-hosted several PPC meetings and events, including exhibition openings and pop-up print displays, and we are excited to bring the printPHILLY! Print Fair to Parkway Central Library!
Hope to see you there!
