By Annette M. RSS Tue, January 16, 2024

Is your 2024 New Year’s resolution finding a new or better job, or improving skills needed in your current job? Then you can count on the Free Library to help you keep this resolution! We are pleased to announce a stream of new in-person and remote programming over the next few months for job seekers and workers looking to improve their career skills: all free!

Full Circle Workshops

Back by popular demand, these remote workshops cover a range of topics of interest to job seekers and career skill-builders, from advanced resume-writing, interview strategies, and networking to sessions on Microsoft Windows, Excel, and QuickBooks. All workshops are free thanks to the generous support of PECO Exelon, but registration is required.

Registration links, dates, and times for the sessions are listed below. Participants will be emailed Zoom meeting information upon registration.

Job Seeker Assistance

Community Workforce Connectors from PA CareerLink are back at various neighborhood libraries providing one-on-one, in-person assistance, including resume review, career counseling, and professional development. Find CareerLink events in the coming weeks.

New for 2024 → Job seeker assistance is now being offered at the Business Resource and Innovation Center at Parkway Central Library. No appointment is necessary to meet with a Community Workforce Connector. Assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. To learn more about this service, call 1-833-750-5627.

Stay tuned for announcements on more programming coming in Spring 2024, including the return of Career Exploration Workshops, presented by Philly Career Launch (thanks to the support of PECO Exelon). In the meantime, be sure to visit the Job Seeker section of the Free Library’s website, where you can access the Career Training Database for training programs that launch you into a new career (many of which are free or low-cost) and other electronic resources for job searches and skills-building.
