Stay Connected with the School District of Philadelphia Parent and Family Portal
By Jennifer E. Thu, February 25, 2021As the pandemic enters its second year, online platforms and virtual learning continue to serve a critical role in our children’s education.
- Are you the caregiver of a currently enrolled student in the School District of Philadelphia?
- Do you need an easy way to keep informed about your child’s academics?
- Want to stay up to date with what’s going on at their school or with the District as a whole?
- Struggling to keep track of their current assignments?
- Wondering how your young learner did on that test you helped them study for?
- Need to review your child’s schedule, attendance, immunization record, or other vital information?
- Got a new email address and want to update how the school shares information with you?
- Worried about keeping up with everything as your student moves into Hybrid Learning?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might want to check out the School District of Philadelphia’s recently revamped Parent and Family Portal.
Originally launched in 2014, this online tool is an easy way to stay connected and access valuable information about your child’s education. Once registered, you can log in from any computer, tablet, mobile phone, or other smart device, to view grades, assignments, test results, academic history, records, reports, announcements, and much more. For even greater convenience, there’s also an app available for both iOS and Android devices, so valuable information is always at your fingertips.
Fortunately, registration is straightforward and if you’ve not done it yet, the Office of Family and Community Engagement has provided extensive, easy-to-follow instructions on signing up for and using the portal, available in multiple languages.
To sign-up, you will need a personal email address and your confirmation code, which can be obtained from your child’s school, from the Office of Family and Community Engagement, or by looking it up online. If looking the confirmation code up online, you will also need your student’s information (Student ID number, Last Name, Date of Birth) and have access to the phone number that is on file with the school, so that the code can be sent to you either by a text or voice message. If you have multiple students enrolled within the School District, you will only need to input the information for one of them during this step. Your students will be automatically linked to your Portal account through the registration process.
Register today and if you need any help signing up or using the Parent and Family Portal, email ask@philasd.org or call 215-400-4000.
