The Free Library Presents Transgender Youth Panel Series
PHILADELPHIA, July 7, 2022— Transgender and gender non-conforming youth have been a widely discussed topic across the nation, one that is often accompanied by disinformation, rumors, and misunderstandings. That is why the Free Library of Philadelphia is hosting “Empathy Versus Misinformation: Transgender Youth,” a series of panel discussions with experts sharing information on the matter.
Parents and professionals who support transgender and gender non-conforming children and adolescents will take part in four panel discussions, starting Monday, July 11, at Walnut Street West Library. Panels feature experts from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Attic Youth Center, and Galaei, as well as independent parent educators. The panels will answer questions and help dispel myths and rumors. Those interested in doing so may submit a question for the panel in advance online.
The panel events will take place at the following times and locations:

Monday, July 11, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- Lillian Marrero Library
Tuesday, July 26, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
- Parkway Central Library
Friday, August 12, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
- Thomas F. Donatucci Library
Friday, August 26, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
These panels are in-person and some will be livestreamed. Livestreaming Information will be announced closer to the event. Press may attend the panels but are asked to notify Kaitlyn Foti Kalosy in advance.
