Free Library and Citizens Bank Team Up to Host Series of Job Fairs
PHILADELPHIA, October 16, 2019—The Free Library of Philadelphia is proud to present a series of job fairs, made possible by a $25,000 contribution from Citizens Bank’s Citizens Charitable Foundation, at the Parkway Central Library and at select libraries throughout the city through mid-November, as part of the Library’s many programs and services available for Philadelphia’s job seekers.
The series will kick off with a special nonprofit job fair on Wednesday, October 23 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Parkway Central Library.
Additional upcoming job fairs will be taking place at the following Free Library locations:
- Paschalville Library, 6942 Woodland Ave., on Wednesday, October 30
- Northeast Regional Library, 2228 Cottman Ave., on Friday, November 15
The fairs feature companies from across the Philadelphia region. There will be plenty of opportunities for job seekers to learn about open positions, talk to prospective employers, and share their résumés. In addition, job seekers can discover free and low-cost resources and tools to help their job search. The fairs are free and no registration is required. More information can be found at freelibrary.org/jobfairs.
“Citizens Bank has been a proud partner of the Free Library for 15 years,” said Daniel Astolfi, Executive Vice President, Corporate Banking- Eastern Mid-Atlantic Region at Citizens Bank and Free Library Corporate Advisory Board member. “We, just like the library, believe that every resident of Philadelphia deserves access to family-sustaining jobs and the opportunity to grow in their fields.”
“Providing Philadelphia’s job seekers with an opportunity to meet face-to-face with potential employers is a key part of our workforce development programming that we are able to offer through our partnership with Citizens Charitable Foundation,” said Siobhan A. Reardon, President and Director, Free Library of Philadelphia. “Our annual job fair at the Parkway Central Library proved so successful over many years, as well as those at our neighborhood libraries.”
In addition to job fairs, the Free Library’s Business Resource and Innovation Center in its new space at Parkway Central offers a wide range of resources and assistance for community leaders and small business owners to start, grow, or improve their organizations, to support job seekers launching the next phase of their career, and to guide inventors. The Job Readiness Lab at Paschalville Library in Southwest Philadelphia is a great neighborhood library option for job seekers.
