Free Library Presents the Mysterious Traveler Concert Series at the Parkway Central Library
PHILADELPHIA September 2, 2014—To satisfy the universal need for deep grooves and sweet sounds, the Music Department at Parkway Central Library, in collaboration with the Philadelphia Jazz Project and the Producers’ Guild, presents The Mysterious Travelers Concert Series. In eight free, monthly concerts running through April 2015, audiences will hear from veterans as well as up-and-coming musicians who are shaping the future sounds of Philadelphia.
“The Music Department’s conservatory-quality collection of recordings, scores, sheet music, lead sheets, practice methods, scholarly tomes, and popular books on every conceivable musical topic has nurtured generations of musicians and their fans in Philadelphia,” says librarian Adam Feldman. “It’s our great privilege to turn our lecture hall over to these eight ensembles which will school us in the mysterious sonic pathways of our local jazz talents.”
