FREE LIBRARY TO DEBUT LEADING VOICES: CONVERSATIONS FROM THE C-SUITE
New program series, hosted by the Library’s renowned Author Events Series, to feature lectures by top business leaders and innovators
PHILADELPHIA, October 8, 2013—The Free Library of Philadelphia is pleased to announce the debut of Leading Voices: Conversations from the C-Suite, a new morning lecture series presented by the Library’s award-winning and nationally acclaimed Author Events Series that aims to foster great conversations with the brightest minds in business. This new program is made possible by sponsor Brandywine Realty Trust.

Friday, November 22 – Erik Prince | Civilian Warriors: The Inside Story of Blackwater and the Unsung Heroes of the War on Terror
Founder and former CEO and chairman of Blackwater USA, Erik Prince, a trained Navy SEAL and CIA spy tells his side of the story in Civilian Warriors, setting the record straight about the rise and shocking fall of one of the world’s most controversial military contractors.
Tuesday, November 26 – David Stockman | The Great Deformation: The Corruption of Capitalism in America
Architect of the Reagan White House’s plan to slash taxes and government excess, and a businessman with decades of experience, David Stockman “produces a persuasive and deeply relevant indictment of a system dangerously akilter” (Washington Post) in his bestseller, The Great Deformation.
Thursday, December 12 – Debora L. Spar | Wonder Woman: Sex, Power, and the Quest for Perfection
Current President of Barnard College, former professor at Harvard Business School, member of the Board of Directors at Goldman Sachs, and mother of three, Debora Spar examines how American women’s lives have and have not changed over the last 50 years in Wonder Woman.
Tickets go on sale on October 30 and are $40 each. The price includes a copy of the featured book and a continental breakfast sponsored by the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. Breakfast will be available at 7:30 a.m. in the Parkway Central Library lobby, and lectures will begin at 8:00 a.m. in Montgomery Auditorium.
