FREE LIBRARY TO HOST ENTRY-LEVEL JOB FAIR AND GREEN JOBS WORKSHOP IN APRIL
Fair and workshop just some of the many job-related services resources provided by the Library
PHILADELPHIA, March 18, 2013—This April, the Free Library of Philadelphia will present an entry-level job fair and a special Green Jobs Workshop for Women at the Parkway Central Library, as part of their many programs and services available for Philadelphia’s job seekers.
Hosted by the Free Library’s Workplace and made possible by Citizens Bank Foundation, the entry-level job fair will take place on Wednesday, April 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the main floor of the Parkway Central Library. With companies from across the Philadelphia region participating, there will be plenty of opportunities for job seekers to learn about open positions, talk to prospective employers, and share their résumés. In addition, job seekers can attend a résumé critique clinic and workshops about internet job searching and how to use the Library’s career databases. Free tickets are available online at workplacejobfair2013.eventbrite.com or in-person at the Parkway Central Library.
In addition to the entry-level job fair, the Free Library will also host a special Green Jobs Workshop for Women, presented by the U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau, on Tuesday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Parkway Central Library in Room 108. Participants in the free workshop will learn about renewable energy jobs and ways to secure them, and even get tips and resources for how to start a small business. Participants will receive a take-home flash drive loaded with related resources. To learn more about the event or to register, please call the Free Library at 215-686-5436 or the Women’s Bureau at 215-861-4864, or sign up online at eventbrite.com/event/5610296548#.
