FREE LIBRARY RELEASES STATEMENT ABOUT THE FUTURE OF ITS EREADER LENDING PROGRAM
PHILADELPHIA, October 24, 2012---Robert C. Heim, Chairman of the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Board of Trustees, released the following statement today related to the settlement of a lawsuit brought by the National Federation of the Blind:
“I am pleased to announce that the Free Library of Philadelphia will soon be offering accessible ereaders in addition to lending the Nook to our customers. New text-to-speech ereaders will make our ereader lending program accessible for all customers of all abilities to borrow. The Free Library of Philadelphia is committed to serving members of our community with visual or other disabilities and we look forward to increasing our outreach and programming to ensure we are accessible to all.”
