Sundays on Stage Takes a World Tour in March
Sundays on Stage, a regular program of free live performances at the Free Library of Philadelphia's Central Library, 1901 Vine Street, takes us to Puerto Rico and the Middle East in March.On March 13, Maria del Pico Taylor and her ensemble of dancers performs. They will share the music, dance, and rhythms of Puerto Rico and celebrate Latino cultures in a program aimed to build cultural bridges.
Then, on March 20, Studio 1831 presents the Snake Charmers, who will take us to the Middle East for a tour de force through the history of belly dancing from the ancient to the modern. Snake Charmers will be interpreted in sign language.
All Sundays on Stage programs are held at 2 p.m. Doors to the Montgomery Auditorium open at 1:30 p.m. and seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis.
Sundays on Stage seeks to bring multicultural, live entertainment to young and old alike. It serves as a first exposure to live performance and a variety of art forms for many Philadelphia area children.
